As an Assistant Manager – Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our engineering designs into practical, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes. This position is based at our Ramasandra facility, located near Narasapura Industrial Area in Kolar, Karnataka. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturing feasibility of engineering designs, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement.

๐Ÿ’ผ Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of several critical functions that ensure the seamless transition from engineering design to manufacturing execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive design studies to assess the feasibility of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
  • Collaborating with the Engineering team to ensure that all designs are optimized for manufacturability, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Defining conditions of supply and managing the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) for production readiness.
  • Estimating work content, balancing production lines, and preparing detailed process sequences to streamline operations.
  • Developing and maintaining key process documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs), Control Plans (CPs), and Work Instructions (WISs).
  • Identifying tooling, equipment, and facility requirements for new processes and estimating Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) to support these needs.
  • Preparing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for new equipment, overseeing procurement, and ensuring the successful installation and validation of tools and machinery.
  • Leading the validation of processes and facilities while resolving any issues to ensure they are ready for Start of Production (SOP).
  • Implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) on the production line to incorporate design updates efficiently.
  • Planning and optimizing in-house logistics to ensure smooth material flow and production efficiency.

To succeed in this role, you must bring a strong blend of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Educational Qualifications:

  • B-Tech in Electrical and Electronics or a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles, ideally within the automotive or electric vehicle industry.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in process validation and creating detailed process documentation (PFD, PFMEA, CP, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of CAPEX estimation and MBOM management.
  • Proficiency in optimizing production processes and balancing assembly lines.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing and managing engineering changes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
